I want to send a huge thank you to every single person who contributed to Team Max Impact last month and I have great news to share.
Over $100,000 was raised at this year’s fundraiser for Ataxia Canada in Chambly, Quebec, on August 28th (which included a walk and a cycling event) and $43,400 of it came from Team Max Impact! This will not only go a long way to fund Freidriech’s Ataxia research led by Dr. Jacques Tremblay, but it also gives us so much hope for our 6-year-old nephew Maxime’s future and for everyone else affected by this devastating disease.
My bestie Kaitlyn Bristowe wanted to help in any way she could (seriously, everyone says they wish they could be best friends with her and she really is the most loving, fun, hilarious, loyal, bff a girl could ask for so congratulations, you are a good judge of character.) Kaitlyn used her platform to generate awareness and supporters for Team Max Impact and because of her Instagram post, a lot of those donations came from complete strangers to our family, whom we consider generous friends we’ve yet to meet.
As promised, we’ve chosen five at random to receive a personalize video from Kaitlyn and her fiance Shawn Booth and they are:
Check your Instagram DMs, ladies! Sorry we could only choose five, but please know, there wasn’t a single donation that went unnoticed or unappreciated. Our hearts are so full knowing there are wonderful people like you in this world.
Also due to Kaitlyn’s enormous following, I happened to connect with a few very strong, brave individuals facing FA and kicking ass, as well as their loved ones. We’ve quickly learned how supportive, comforting, encouraging, and inspirational the FA community is, which they call the ‘FAmily’ (how cute is that.)
Once again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for every dollar gifted toward this cause and all the warm words of encouragement. We are so grateful and we hope to share an exciting update on the Friedreich’s Ataxia fight with you one day soon.
